If you’re hosting Thanksgiving for the first time or just want to keep it stress-free, these easy-to-follow recipes are guaranteed to wow everyone at the table.
Here are step-by-step recipes for each item on the menu:
Roasted Herb Heritage Turkey
Ingredients:
- 1 whole turkey (12-14 lbs)
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
- 2 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
- 2 tbsp fresh sage, chopped
- 1 lemon, zested and halved
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- Salt and pepper
- 1 cup chicken or turkey broth
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Mix butter with rosemary, thyme, sage, lemon zest, garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Rub the mixture under the turkey’s skin and on the outside.
- Stuff the cavity with lemon halves and extra herbs.
- Place turkey on a roasting rack and pour broth into the pan.
- Roast for 3-4 hours, basting every 30 minutes, until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Traditional Stuffing
Ingredients:
- 1 loaf crusty bread, cubed
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 celery stalks, diced
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp fresh sage, chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
- 2 cups chicken broth

- 16 oz elbow macaroni

- 1 cup shredded gouda cheese
- 2 cups milk
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 4 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp flour
- Salt and pepper

- Cook macaroni and set aside.
- Melt butter, whisk in flour, and cook for 1 minute.
- Slowly add milk and cream, whisking until smooth.
- Stir in cheeses until melted.
- Combine sauce with macaroni and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20 minutes.
Penne all’Arrabbiata
Ingredients:
- 16 oz penne pasta
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp red chili flakes
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- Salt and pepper
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions:
- Cook penne and set aside.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet, sauté garlic and chili flakes.
- Add crushed tomatoes, season with salt and pepper, and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Toss penne with sauce and garnish with parsley.
Sweet Potato Casserole
Ingredients:
- 4 cups mashed sweet potatoes
- ½ cup brown sugar
